WHAT WE DO

At Lathallan, we’re not just a recycling facility but a hub for environmental innovation. Our operations span a broad spectrum of waste processing and recovery activities designed to minimise environmental impact and maximise resource recovery. Through advanced sorting, recycling, and treatment technologies, we handle various materials, from household waste to industrial by-products, ensuring that as much material as possible is diverted from landfills and reused, recycled, or converted into energy.

OUR FACILITY

The Lathallan facility is among the most advanced in Scotland, boasting state-of-the-art equipment and processes that set new standards in waste management. Our approach combines mechanical sorting with innovative treatment technologies, enabling us to recover valuable materials and generate renewable energy from what was once considered waste.

State-of-the-Art Material Recovery

At the heart of our operation is a sophisticated sorting and recovery process designed to handle a diverse and complex mixture of waste materials. Utilising cutting-edge technology, we meticulously separate and recover high levels of recyclable material. Our facility is equipped to identify and extract:

WOOD

Salvaged and repurposed for various uses, including construction materials and biomass fuel.

METAL

Sorted, cleaned, and recycled, finding new life in manufacturing and industrial applications.

PLASTICS

Carefully processed to be re-introduced into the production cycle, reducing the need for new plastic production.

AGGREGATES

They are recovered and reused in construction projects, significantly reducing the environmental impact associated with quarrying and transportation.

This process extends the lifecycle of these materials and plays a crucial role in reducing landfill use, conserving natural resources, and lowering carbon emissions associated with new material production.

From Waste to Energy

A key innovation at Lathallan is our approach to managing materials that cannot be recycled in the traditional sense. Once deemed unrecyclable, these remnants are transformed into high-quality fuel through meticulous preparation. This fuel is critical in generating renewable energy that can be utilised at energy form waste facilities.
